We had a party of four at Gilbert's yesterday and, oh my, what a treat! Pure deliciousness! We started with an appetizer of fried chicken skins with roumalade sauce and ordered the Duo of Brisket, Southern fried chicken, grits, and macaroni and cheese for entrees. Then topped it off with banana pudding, bourbon pecan pie and peach cobbler pie for dessert. This was our first time eating here and it instantly became our favorite restaurant on Amelia Island! Summer was our waitress and she was phenomenal- really cool personality! This place is the real deal!

Absolutely outstanding food. I have had many of the bbq and conventional entree options as well as most of the sides and have yet to dislike a single item that I have tasted from here. My personal favorite is the 24 hour brine fried chicken.

Awesome meal. Tried alligator ribs for the 1st time! I like them better than beef or chicken. Sangria just ok. Shrimp perfectly fried. Brussel sprouts crazy good, cheesy grits taste like mac n cheese n grits. My bro says collards outstanding! Great food good portions.
My husband and I went to Gilbert's for dinner. We've been there several times and I always get their pulled pork sandwich with sides. It's on their lunch menu, but I've gotten it for dinner numerous times. On our last visit I was told that it is now only available for lunch. If you want pulled pork for dinner now you have to buy the entree which is a pound (16 ounces) of meat and the sides are not included. And the sides are only available in 8 ounce or 16 ounce sizes. I went ahead and got the pulled pork and baked beans for dinner and brought the leftovers home. I've eaten 3 times from that meal and am only about halfway through. It's a good meal (pretty spicy), but for people who don't want huge portions, another option should be available. We will not be going there for dinner in the future.
